✍️ Worried About Authoritarianism, MAGA? It’s Not Marxists Taking Over. It’s Trump
As MAGA Rages Over Epstein, Trump Chips Away at Democracy
MAGA, stop obsessing over imaginary Marxists and Leninists. If you’re truly worried about authoritarianism in America, look in the mirror: You’re cheering for the guy trying to make it happen.
Trump’s latest behavior makes that clearer than ever. The current issue about late sex offender Epstein is fueling public outrage, and even some MAGA loyalists are privately fuming over his name surfacing in connection with the scandal.
But instead of facing the facts, Trump and his allies are doing what they always do—attacking investigators, spreading conspiracy theories, and demanding blind loyalty.
That’s not the behavior of an innocent man or a democratic leader. It’s the behavior of someone who will do or say anything to protect himself, no matter what the damage to the country.
This isn’t a new playbook. As I discussed recently, authoritarianism rarely arrives from outside; it grows from within, when leaders twist the truth, undermine courts, and demand loyalty to themselves rather than the law.
Trump isn’t a disciplined ideologue like Mussolini or Franco; his only cause is Trumpism—personal power, personal profit, and personal revenge.
The Republican Party once claimed to believe in small government and free markets. Now it bends to whatever Trump wants, even when it means bullying judges, threatening election officials, or treating public office like a personal business deal.
So, if you’re truly worried about losing your freedoms, MAGA, stop yelling about Marxists. Start asking why you’re still backing the guy acting more like a dictator than a president.
