Before May Day, it’s worth remembering what the day has long stood for: worker rights, labor solidarity, fair wages, safe workplaces, and collective action.
Those issues are not confined to one day on the calendar. They affect people’s lives every day—in grocery stores, schools, farms, offices, hospitals, restaurants, government agencies, care work, delivery jobs, and countless other workplaces.
